National TV coverage for Networx3 UAV drone footage

May 3, 2023

Networx3 UAV has helped tell the story of a local family farm on Channel 5’s Springtime on the Farm TV show.

Magnus Hird at Monk Hall Farm

Footage of Monk Hall Farm, its owners Helen and Magnus Hird and their rare breed Hebridean sheep was shot using state-of-the-art DJI Avata and MT30 drones, which form part of the Networx3 UAV fleet.

Cinematic aerial shots of Magnus followed by his distinctive ovine herd were used in the two-minute segment showcasing the UK’s farming family.

Networx3 UAV and the Hird’s farm are neighbouring businesses in Briercliffe, Burnley.

So, when Networx3 UAV managing director and commercial drone pilot Ian Ashworth discovered the Hirds were putting together a video diary about Monk Hall Farm for the TV show he offered a helping hand.

Ian and Olivia Cambridge, who is the latest Networx3 UAV commercial drone pilot, teamed up and spent a couple of hours zooming and swooping across the farm capturing the rocky outcrops and wildness of the East Lancashire foothills.

The drones hover over Helen and Magnus as they gather an enthusiastic group of hungry sheep around them at feeding time.

Ian said: “At Networx3 UAV we’re used to travelling all over the UK on commercial jobs for the likes of utility companies, surveyors and green energy firms so it was something a bit different to go just up the road to Monk Hall Farm and put the drone to work for our friends and neighbours.

“We’re delighted that some of our video was used to show off their fantastic farm and bring their farming story to life.”
