We employ cutting-edge technology to ensure that we deliver the best solution for our customers whatever their particular surveying needs. This means offering both Pointcloud and 3D Mapping visualisations of the footage that we obtain.

We partner with US company gNEXTLABS who have created software which converts video and images into accurate digital models.

What Does This Mean?

A point cloud is a set of data points in space, and these points can represent an object or structure such as an office building, a bridge, a quarry or a factory, for example. Point cloud is used to create a 3D model of that object or structure.

There are many benefits to using accurate digital models using point cloud software.

  • The data can be seen in various different formats: 3D, Point Clouds, Digital Elevation Models (DEM), Plan View or Mesh.
  • Using the 3D model, volumes can be calculated, and accurate measurements given for distance, and thicknesses etc which is invaluable information.
  • The software is cloud-based and highly secure with no downloading required, and you can draw and annotate directly on to the model to communicate with other members of the team.
  • For ease of use there is multiformat support for inputs and outputs. Models can be exported to JPEG, DXF, GeoTIFF, LAZ or OBJ formats.
  • All this information is gathered at a safe distance from any potentially dangerous scenario that an asset might present.
  • Networx3 UAV pilots are all highly qualified and experienced in commercial drone operations.

There are a number of industries where digital 3D modelling is an invaluable tool. Examples are  Infrastructure Inspection, Mining & Quarrying, Waste Management, Rail, Construction, and Surveyors & Consultants.

Networx3 UAV have recently used the software for inspection and survey work on 197-year-old Griffin Lodge, in Blackburn, and it has been highly beneficial for that project.
